Last year, the FCC’s COVID-19 Telehealth Program dispersed $200 million in funds to over 500 healthcare organizations in need of support for their telehealth and connected care programs. Following the program’s success and considering the ongoing need for remote health programs during the pandemic, the FCC has announced Round 2, which provides an additional $249.95 million.

Key information:

  • The Commission’s COVID-19 Telehealth Program was designed to help health care providers offer telehealth and connected care services to patients at their homes or mobile locations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.*

  • The program includes the telecommunications services, information services, and connected devices necessary to provide critical telehealth and connected care services. (FCC release)  This includes digital health programs powered by Pattern Health’s digital health platform.

  • Round 2 of the COVID-19 Telehealth Program is a $249.95 million federal initiative that builds on the $200 million program established as part of the CARES Act.**

  • The filing window will last seven calendar days, opening on Thursday, April 29, 2021, and closing on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 12:00 PM ET.***

Act fast to take advantage of Round 2:

Pattern Health offers a no-code digital health platform and powers a growing library of assessments, questionnaires, and digital health programs available for licensing in its Marketplace.

The Marketplace contains validated, quick-to-deploy programs that support a wide range of conditions and use cases, such as Duke’s Home-Based Cardiac Rehab (HBRC) program.  The HBRC program is an innovative remote cardiac rehabilitation program that allows cardiac rehab providers to efficiently serve more patients, and specifically, better serve patients unable to participate in onsite rehabilitation programs, a rapidly growing patient population as a result of COVID-19.  Request information here.

Pattern Health’s no-code platform simplifies the process of creating and validating digital health research and care programs.  Healthcare providers choose Pattern Health over custom development projects because it enables them to get up and running quickly and with a lower budget. Pattern Health’s digital health platform has been adopted by 11 of the top 20 academic medical centers and 5 of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies in the United States. It is HITRUST certified and HIPAA and GDPR compliant.

Steps to prepare to apply:

There are steps you can take immediately to prepare to apply for the Round 2 Program:

  1. Obtain an eligibility determination from the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC).  If you do not already have an eligibility determination for USAC, you can file an FCC Form 460 (Eligibility and Registration Form) with USAC for Round 2 of the program.  Access the form here: https://www.usac.org/rural-health-care/resources/forms/

  2. Obtain an FCC Registration Number (FRN). An FRN is required to do business with the Commission.  Register for an FRN in the Commission Registration System (CORES) here: https://apps.fcc.gov/cores/userLogin.do

  3. Register with System for Award Management (SAM). You must register with SAM to receive payment through the Program. This step is not required to apply for the Telehealth Program, but it is best to start the process early. Register with SAM here: https://www.sam.gov/SAM/
