As the year comes to a close, the Pattern Health team has taken some time to reflect.

We are honored to support you, our amazing partners, who are pushing the boundaries of research and developing life-changing therapeutics.  This holiday season, we cheer to you and the positive change you are bringing to the world!

Pattern has donated to Alliance Medical Ministry and Community Health Coalition, two organizations that do incredible work in their communities to improve access to care, on behalf of you and all of our customers and partners.  Thanks for everything you do!  See below for more information on these impactful nonprofits.

A year of growth.

Pattern has now supported 60+ clinical trials, 350+ research sites, and over 800,000 users!

In 2023, we continued to expand the number of academic medical centers and life science organizations that are conducting groundbreaking research across multiple therapeutic areas on our platform.  We never cease to be amazed by the ingenuity of our research partners.

In addition to powering clinical trials, we have seen a lot of recent interest in supporting real-world evidence (RWE) studies, including patient registries.  The Duke EMPOWER study is one of the latest RWE studies powered by Pattern to come to completion.  The Duke study team utilized the Pattern platform to build a registry that helps patients with Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) discover relevant clinical trials, access information and exercise plans, track biometrics, and more.  More than 50% of study participants expressed interest in clinical trials shared through the app, supporting the conclusion that a direct-to-patient approach is feasible in patients with ILD.

More powerful and user-friendly than ever.

We have made tremendous advances with our platform in 2023, expanding on our core design principles–configurability, ease of use, automation, and scalability.

We pride ourselves on both proactive development, anticipating future needs, as well as collaborative development, responding to the needs of our partners.  In response to increasing demand from larger enterprises, our platform enhancements have centered around enterprise functionality, usability improvements, and data management capabilities.

We have a lot of exciting updates in our 2024 development pipeline.  Stay tuned for updates in the new year!

We would love to demo our new features and talk to you about how we can better support you in the future–Contact Us.

Regulators and sponsors adopt hybrid trial designs as standard practice.

2023 has been a big year in the world of clinical research as hybrid clinical trials become the industry standard.  This momentum spans academic and sponsored research across the globe.  60% of industry-sponsored studies in North America adopted decentralized methods in 2023, and 80-90% of global clinical trials are anticipated to be fully decentralized or hybrid in the next 5 years! (Everest Group).

This industry momentum is supported by an evolving regulatory environment that is increasingly encouraging the use of decentralized technologies.  The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently released its long-awaited draft guidance supporting the use of decentralized clinical trials (DCTs) for drugs, biologics, and devices. The new guidance clarifies the FDA’s position on DCTs, inspiring confidence in their use for future clinical research.  This advancement of regulatory practices is particularly relevant to biopharma research but is also expected to impact non-regulated health research, where decentralized and hybrid trial designs are becoming standard practice.

Adoption of decentralized methods benefits everyone in the research ecosystem–patients, sites, and sponsors.  As a leader in the clinical trial technology industry, we are excited for the future!

Wishing You Peace and Joy this Holiday Season and into 2024!
